The peakmarks® software is fully implemented in PL/SQL and SQL and requires no additional hardware or software installations. It runs unchanged on on-premises installations and in the cloud. With over 30+ workloads, peakmarks® is the most comprehensive software for measuring the performance of Oracle database infrastructures.
The peakmarks® software provides simple and understandable key figures on the performance of typical database operations such as transaction processing, data analytics, data load, critical database processes such as Log Writer and Database Writer, and server and storage systems in Oracle database operation.
Each workload is measured in different load situations, from single thread to system saturation. This unique feature allows the system behavior to be tested in regular operation and peak times. The synthetically generated database can be adapted to customer requirements using various configuration parameters.
Important Oracle options such as Real Application Cluster (RAC), DataGuard, and Transparent Data Encryption (TDE) are supported. In contrast to many other tools, the peakmarks® software is continuously developed and adapted to new Oracle versions. Thus, the peakmarks® software includes specific workloads for technologies such as In-Memory Column Store, Memory-Optimized Tables, Database Smart Flash Cache, and Exadata Offload functions.
